Three weeks ago today, I went to my weekly check-up appointment (because lucky me, I had a high risk pregnancy). My due date was two weeks away, yet I was told to go directly to the hospital.
At 3:29 P.M. on September 10, Gaines and I welcomed Louise Ravenel Hammond into the world and into our hearts. She weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces.
It has been a whirlwind, and I am still in disbelief that I have TWO kids. But alas, we have our two girls, completing our family. (Big sister Elizabeth is still trying to comprehend that her baby sister is here to stay.)
Medicine, prayer, the skillful hands and guidance of doctors, as well as help and kindness from friends and family, got me through three months of bed rest. (Read about my bed rest experience on Charleston Moms Blog.) My heart is so full!
Congratulations! I am so happy that Louise safely made her entrance into the world. You have a beautiful family.
