Helen Ravenel Hammond is a Charleston native who has been a reporter, photographer and news editor of a local newspaper. She has won several awards with the South Carolina Press Association. In addition to volunteering for non-profit organizations, she can also be found working on various writing projects (oftentimes with a cat on her lap). She lives in the Charleston area with her husband, daughter and two cats.
